I'm not sure why so many great reviews. It's not really a barbecue sauce as it's liquidy more like a flavored soy sauce. I'll stick with Mr. Yoshida.

People say it's too thin and watery to use as barbecue sauce. I don't want to extinguish my charcoal. Is it like flavored soy sauce?

Maybe use to marinate?

Yes. I use it for marinades but if you're trying to slap this on chicken that's already on the grill it's going straight thru the grate

This is a Japanese BBQ sauce, not an American sauce. It's not meant to be thick and syrupy. I love this stuff on chicken rice bowls. Mixed in with the rice, it's delicious!
