So on average how long does a person actually "own" these before the digital license is revoked.

So far, for a person's lifetime, since no digital movies have been revoked to date. I think they have to add that "license agreement" line to cover their a$$.

For digital movies? Where's the proof? Platforms may shut down, but not until some other platform buys them out and your movies are transferred there instead.

I hear ya. But that is an example of a streaming platform shutting down with not other platform buying it out. So, those movies are lost...kinda. Movies that are MA should not be affected. And some of the movies that were lost on that list are still in my list. So, this was a licensing issue between Sony and a movie studio. Surprising, nonetheless, but your point is valid.
I have been on a platform that has shut down and transferred ownership 3 times now, and I have not lost movies. Amazon also lost licensing on some movies, but fortunately, they transferred them to my main streaming platform (FAH), and that worked out to my favor.

If you can't hold it, you don't own it.

Fine, I don't own it. I pay for a Netflix license on a monthly basis; whats the difference?

I'm a physical first guy myself, but some people have really lost the thread here. There are advantages and disadvantages to each that you have to weigh. If you can buy a digital copy for half the physical, that's a good deal.

The main difference is that paying for Netflix gets you nothing of value at all. laugh out loud
