No these are clean for the most part but one should take a few proactive measures either way to stay safe. Best thing is none of the apps require you to login with your existing subscription info or anything else to get them to work. Assign a guest account that will be utilized only by the Vsee and if needed add a vpn to it as well although it is not an absolute necessity. If one tends to be anal just turn it off when before logging into your other electronic devices but again this is way out there for folks that are into "china" and the whole thing around it.
We use our tmobile 5g home internet service for this and this only with nothing else connected to it as our primary home internet is with a different provider. Yes $35 a month to t-mobile is peanuts for what this box can give you.
Here is the most important thing: Make sure you buy from an authorized reseller. Both Vsee and Superbox rely on informants by incentivizing them with $ to snitch on non approved resellers and when this occurs they will remotely lock down all the devices sold by these sellers leaving their innocent customers with no recourse. It sucks but it is what it is and I can see why they do this for obvious reasons. They've been around since Covid and might get shut down some day but that has yet to happen and even if they do they'll rebrand and come back with a different name
Check out the expose linked below by the verge a while back where everyone in the down low was pissed at them for putting our business out there but guess what- nothing happened. This is single handedly the best av equipment we own in our household and will continue to be so for the forseeable future. And oh yes, we pay nada for subscription apps meaning this thing has paid itself 10 fold since we got it. Hit me up with a PM if you need a referral to an authorized seller or two.
