You might need to look for wired Bluetooth transmitter, which will be more reliable

Transmitter or Receiver? Dual mode almost always have auto sleep because they're designed to be mobile/OTG devices where you wouldn't want Always-On as a feature, although this company sells a dual-mode (B03) that does both and is supposedly always-on (https://a.co/d/03iay4Rn). It's more common in RX-only (look up BluDento B1, B2, etc.) or TX-only (1Mii also has the B06TX which is explicitly powered via USB) since no battery ≈ no need for standby/power-saving features.

The mere presence of a battery usually means all kinds of triggers & automatic events will be occurring, so battery-less is usually your best bet. I've only owned a few of these so I can't 100% confirm the ones I listed don't sleep at all, but the reviews probably mention it.

All of the pictures are for a different product. This is definitely a BS post shared/shilled by staff for site profits, not for savings.

While it's possible, does nay reputable brand make something like this? I would love this for long airplane trip, can't believe we pay $1000 for airfare but still have to plug in crappy jacks with static. Few airlines allow you to watch on your phone instead but still not ideal, maybe if you have your iPad and use the airline app to stream movies.

lol I didn't realize editing a comment (just clarified my language a bit) clears your 💡 reacts, although I guess I can see why.

That hurt my dopamine receptors—which I obviously deserve for caring about it in the first place.

If you mean transmitting voice data over your mic, no. Because of the way AptX / Bluetooth works, even if you COULD send signal to this while receiving audio (you can't, it's either/or), Bluetooth would switch from A2DP (high definition audio) to HFP (hands-free mode), which doesn't support AptX at all. As a result, it splits your A2DP stereo channel in half to make room for your voice comms, resulting in 1 atrociously compressed mono audio channel & an equally shitty mono voice channel—which makes sense when you consider the Hands-Free Profile was created in 2003 & meant for phone calls.

If you don't want to spring for a decent 2.4ghz RF or dual-mode BT/RF headset, what you'll need is something like this: https://a.co/d/0ixuzZUS. Dongles like this support A2DP, but they also have a sound card built into them which, when you turn on the mic, splits the HFP signal in half; the audio is routed through the emulated sound card so you get actual stereo audio from the soundcard while a dedicated chip handles the HFP voice comms channel. The voice comms will still be sub-par because it IS an HFP mono channel, but the dedicated chip does some processing that can make it a little less shitty to varying degrees depending on the dongle.

Twelve South Airfly is the product you're looking for. There are quite a few other brands doing the same thing now, though.

All the jacks I used on planes have been never been an issue...
