The new MILWAUKEE 1/2" Stubby Impact Wrench delivers the Most Power, Is Lighter Weight & More Compact while delivering 50% Faster Application speeds. Leveraging POWERSTATE Brushless Motor, The Stubby Delivers 0-3,000 RPM with up to 550 ft-lbs of Nut Busting Torque, allowing the removal of the most corroded and stubborn applications. This Milwaukee solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lbs bare tool. Users will experience less fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change modes effortlessly.

This Milwaukee M12 FUEL 1 2 inch stubby impact wrench is aimed at compact automotive work, and the bundled high output 5.0 Ah battery is a useful part of the package. The 1 2 inch version is described as capable for typical fastener removal, and the tool is praised for getting into tight spaces. The package does not include a charger. The main debate is socket size, with strong arguments for 3 8 inch setups and low profile adapters to reduce stress and length, especially for heavier jobs.
DIY mechanics doing routine fastener removal, because the stubby impact will do the job with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery.
Mechanics who want one compact impact for mixed socket sizes, because low-profile adapters and 3/8 sockets can cover larger fasteners without much added length.
The stubby may struggle with some rust-belt suspension fasteners, since a 3/8 impact reportedly could not remove stabilizer link end bolts on a 2012 Camry.
The 1/2" version is easier to adapt down to 3/8" sockets, while the 3/8" version is often preferred for everyday use and can cover more jobs with low-profile adapters and sockets. The 1/2" to 3/8" adapter path puts less stress on the adapter than going the other way.
It should handle typical removal jobs, especially with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery. For heavily seized suspension hardware, it may be enough for some fasteners but a mid-torque or higher-torque tool can still be needed in tougher rust-belt cases.
No charger is included in this package. It does include the high-output 5.0Ah battery, so you may still need a separate M12 charger if you do not already have one.
Yes, it is described as a pretty good Home Depot Daily Deal for either the 3/8" or 1/2" Stubby. One buyer also noted they had bought the same tool earlier for less when it came with two batteries.
The issue I see with this is this. Say you are trying to hammer on an 1 1/2 nut and you are using the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. There will be a lot of stress on that adapter.
Going from 1/2 to 3/8 won't have as much stress because the largest size socket in 3/8 drive is typically 22 mm. Which will not need nearly as much torque power as a 1 1/2 nut.

So less strain on a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

I beleive the 3/8 versions reviewed having more tq than the 1/2.
