This Milwaukee solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lbs bare tool. Users will experience less fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change modes effortlessly.

Milwaukee's M12 FUEL 1 2 inch stubby impact wrench stands out as a compact option for everyday socket work, especially when paired with the included high output 5.0 Ah battery. The 1 2 inch drive is favored for flexibility, since a 1 2 to 3 8 adapter can step down to smaller sockets without as much strain as the reverse setup. The package does not include a charger, and heavier rust belt suspension jobs may still call for a larger impact. A practical compact setup if you want one tool for common tasks.
Shop owners wanting a 1/2-inch stubby they can adapt down to 3/8 sockets, because the larger drive avoids the extra strain of reducing up from 3/8.
Technicians who want one compact impact to replace a high-torque wrench, because the 3/8 stubby still gets replaced by a high-torque model for heavy jobs.
The 1/2" version is easier to adapt down to 3/8" sockets with a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter, while going the other direction can put more stress on the adapter. The 3/8" stubby is also favored for everyday use, but the 1/2" gives more flexibility for larger fasteners.
No charger is included in this package. It comes with the 1/2" stubby impact wrench and a high-output 5.0Ah battery, so you may need to supply a compatible M12 charger if you do not already have one.
It should handle typical suspension and undercar work, especially with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery. For very stuck fasteners or tight access, a mid-torque or higher-torque tool may still be needed.
The issue I see with this is this. Say you are trying to hammer on an 1 1/2 nut and you are using the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. There will be a lot of stress on that adapter.
Going from 1/2 to 3/8 won't have as much stress because the largest size socket in 3/8 drive is typically 22 mm. Which will not need nearly as much torque power as a 1 1/2 nut.

So less strain on a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

I beleive the 3/8 versions reviewed having more tq than the 1/2.
