Leveraging POWERSTATE Brushless Motor, The Stubby Delivers 0-3,000 RPM with up to 550 ft-lbs of Nut Busting Torque, allowing the removal of the most corroded and stubborn applications. This Milwaukee solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lbs bare tool. Users will experience less fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change modes effortlessly.

Milwaukee's M12 FUEL 12V brushless stubby impact wrench is a compact choice for everyday fastener removal, and the included high output 5.0 Ah battery is a strong part of the package. The 1/2 inch version is favored for pairing with a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter, while the 3/8 size is also praised for being the more common reach for many jobs. It should handle typical work well, though the box does not include a charger. A solid compact setup if you want Milwaukee power without moving up to a larger impact.
DIY mechanics working on routine car fasteners, because the stubby impact is reported to remove typical bolts and nuts effectively with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery.
Car tinkerers who want a compact wrench for underhood disassembly, because the 3/8 version is described as the one reached for almost every time and the stubby format stays handy in tight spaces.
Shoppers comparing compact impact sizes for general automotive use, because the 3/8 version is described as more powerful than the 1/2 version in testing.
Heavy suspension jobs in rust-belt conditions, because the stubby may struggle on seized fasteners and tight access can make a mid-torque easier to position.
The 1/2" version is a good choice if you want to use a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter for 3/8 sockets, while the 3/8" version is often preferred for everyday use and avoids the stress that can snap adapters under higher torque. Both sizes can work, but the 3/8" setup is easier to keep compact and versatile.
It should handle typical removal jobs, especially with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery. For heavily rusted suspension hardware, it may still be limited compared with a mid-torque or high-torque impact, but it is reported to remove common fasteners fine.
No charger is included in this package. It does include the 5.0Ah high-output battery, so you may need a separate M12 charger if you do not already own one.
The issue I see with this is this. Say you are trying to hammer on an 1 1/2 nut and you are using the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. There will be a lot of stress on that adapter.
Going from 1/2 to 3/8 won't have as much stress because the largest size socket in 3/8 drive is typically 22 mm. Which will not need nearly as much torque power as a 1 1/2 nut.

So less strain on a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

I beleive the 3/8 versions reviewed having more tq than the 1/2.
