This is the greatest tool in the "never need" list; or as I like to call it, the yellow tag list. Both as a grinder and cut-off, I have saved so much time grabbing this and finishing the job in a few seconds. And I would've saved more if not for my pesky stubbornness and saying "ehhhh this Dremel can handle that...."

Yes, itll sit on your shelf unopened for a time. You'll get to the point of a disappointment monologue along the lines of "why did I trust random internet comments again!" But then...the moment arises. You step up to the proverbial plate while filling your plate at the cookout "You should totally use an angle grinder for that. Easy work. Oh, you dont have one? I didnt think I needed it too for so long but hey why dont you just borrow mine? Yeah yeah no worries. Ill just wrap up my project tomorrow then drop it off, does that work for you?"

The XAG26Z also includes a large no lock-on flush-mount paddle switch with two-stage lock-off. In the event that a battery is installed while pulling the paddle switch into the ON position, the anti-restart function prevents the grinder from starting. It's part of Makita's expanding 18V LXT System, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batteries.
