its not a bad game, i believe they even included a slider for lower the amount of talk-back the char gives cuz apparently a lot of people found it annoying. they try to make her come off as some stereotype 'hood rat', which i'm not sure how they thought that would come across as 'authentic' or something and not racist or stupid. i mean it KINDA makes sense in the context of the actual story of the game, but still...

This game was a victim of chuds on the internet hating on it which caused it to do poorly. I found it fun. Everyone i know who played it thought it was fun too. Plays kinda like Infamous on ps3.

I played a little when I paid for the top PS subscription for a year. I dropped it fast, I did not enjoy it at all and the gameplay felt bland.

I have my own gripes with the story, I really wanted to like this game but it was definitely not for me. Even the amazing writers they hired to consult on the script weren't happy with what was released and they were asked to contribute solely for their name.

I heavily dislike the game's director Hajime Tabata, I considered him a hack and when he was given a whole new studio and wasted (was it a billion dollars) on his studio only to make this mid-game, well... I'm sad he got that far and people learned the hard way.

If the game was $5 I'd say it's worth it to try and test your tolerance and patience. I usually say there's a good game in there somewhere, but for this game it needed to be taken back to the inception stage.

This would be entirely in the other field of gaming. If your grandson likes first person shooters, online games where you can go and play with friends shooting each other then absolutely not.

This is a single player long story fantasy isekai game. If your grandson ever shown interest in Final Fantasy, Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, Baldur's Gate or even TV shows like Game of Thrones or anything DnD related, maybe he will be interested to try this game.

But he sounds like someone who'd probably prefer to play Grand Theft Auto 6 when that releases in November.

I played through it. It's no game of the year, but for $10 (and less if you consider you can sell it later), it's enjoyable enough. Most of the haters haven't even played it.
