I think an IKEA bookshelf with the nice glass doors would be a better option if you have a lot of things you want to display. I have something similar to this and I filled it quickly with 30ish model kits while if I spent the same on an IKEA bookshelf with doors I would have plenty of space leftover.

So I have a large and ever growing collection of 1:18 die cast car models.

I have been buying up IKEA Deltof display units off Craigslist and FB marketplace when I see them cheap which isn't that often.

Most people sell them for over $100 but I have gotten all mine for about $50 each.

I would give a long hard look at something like this if you can't find Deltofs used. This is a corner model so only viewing from 2 sides. If they had a 3 side wall version as well, that would be great.

The worst issue is that it looks hard to add extra shelves for models that are smaller.

With the cars, I am cutting glass to make extra shelves in the Deltof units so they have 8 shelves each.

I bought a larger Brottar a month back, bit of a jigsaw to build, but the finished product is excellent as a display cabinet. We looked in Ikea and just didnt find what we wanted. Packaging of product was very good too, lots of pieces in perfect shape to put together.

Tempted, but it's plastic and not glass so pass for me. Glass makes a huge difference for viewing, feel, and look of the cabinet. Great price though.

I have the larger display cabinet version of this and I am happy with it. On my model the front doors are glass but the sides are plexiglass/plastic/acrylic. I'm not sure which. After building it it felt sturdy and was sturdy enough to be moved to a new home. The only complaint I have is that the cable management is a bit limited and that there could be done to keep it cleaner. I ended up taking some cable sheathing and cleaning it up that way.

One last complaint I can think of is that the sensor can only be set up on one side. So in my original configuration I had a cabinet on the left and the right, which meant I had one sensor facing out and one sensor facing into the wall. It would still detect me, but I'd have to be on top of it basically. I couldn't just walk up and have them both activate. That's probably not an issue with this model.

I'm still very happy with them.

BROTTAR is pretty good, but I prefer the more economical BRUH line.
