I have alot of experience building and using desktops over the years. I dont trust thermaltake psu. I have had two seperate desktop fried because of their psu. No problems with other brands like evga, rosewill, corsair. Even the apevia brand didn't fry my other components, although that psu did fried itself. Only thermaltake had fried other pc components. Someone I knew also had a thermaltake psu and his motherboard died as well. I won't take any more chances with thermaltake psu no matter how cheap their prices are.

Thermaltake doesn't generally rate well on the PSU rating list -

Do not go with white version as it's even lower grade than the bronze.

User error. Be more careful with your cabling, etc.

Finally a decent price on a 80+ PSU. Says it has Japanese main capacitors, which is more than I'd expect at this price point.

This one is rated C though. Not bad. You can't blanket yes or no a brand. Some PSUs from one brand will be top-tier, and they can have F rated units sold at the same time. Coolermaster and Corsair have tons of A+ rated units and a fair share of E/F rated units too.

In fact the note on this specific PSU is very encouraging.

"Transient response was tested but values were left out. OPP is set very high, but the PSU handled it and shut down safely and properly."

The PSU tier list is entirely made up, they don't actually test any of the PSU's they recommend. It's good for a general glance (especially if you're looking at a brand you aren't familiar with) but don't treat it as gospel.

FYI Thermaltake doesn't make PSU. They just rebrand other oem's. With PSU purchasing, the OEM of the unit is far more important than the sticker brand.

Great deal. The last Thermaltake power supply (500W) I bought lasted over 4 years, and the system was powered up 24/7, and they replaced it for free.
