IMO the GOTY edition is too expensive, but the base game is worth $28. Here's the recent "what do you think of the game" reddit posts that had a LOT of comments. https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefi..._thoughts/
ehhhh on steam there's 37,000 online right now with a 60k peak this weekend. it's averaging 20k to 40k overall though in the last month. it's more than COD (29k 24 hour peak) but less than overwatch at 61k (steam)
Battlefield 6 is being framed as a strong shooter at around $28, especially for players who want the base game rather than the new cosmetic-heavy GOTY edition. The game is also available through Game Pass, and a Steam free play window is coming, which makes waiting an option for some. The main knocks are that this price still feels too high for a few, with expectations closer to $10 or below, and there is frustration over removed content like Squad Deathmatch and slower XP tied to shortcut kits. A solid pick if the current price and content changes fit your timing.
Players who want a full Battlefield shooter at a midrange price, because the base game is considered worth about $28 and can deliver hundreds of hours of entertainment.
Some shoppers are holding out for a sub-$10 price or a Black Friday sale, while others think $27.99 is already a good buy for the base game. The practical choice depends on whether you want to play now or are willing to wait for a deeper discount.
The base game is considered worth about $28, but the GOTY edition is viewed as overpriced because it adds cosmetics rather than real content. A practical takeaway is that the current deal is reasonable if you want the core game, while the extra edition is not necessary.

It's just cosmetics anyway, not any real content. "Too expensive" is besides the point. I would call it "unnecessary"
Seems like a great price but last year EA had a killer sale on BF games; got BF1 for $5. Wondering if I should hold out for upcoming black Friday or pull the trigger on this.
way too late at this price. this is now a sub $10 buy for me. I love battlefield but too many other games like delta force or wardogs starting at a cheaper price and doing more than waiting for a year to get here

I'd argue that anything below $20 is a phenomenal price for a masterpiece like BF1 that will easily give you back hundreds of hours of entertainment.
That said, BF1 has dipped down to $2 many many times. $5 is a great score regardless. One of the best deals in FPS gaming IMO.

I think they are doing free play Oct 15-19 on Steam but not the EA windows app, which is annoying if you already used that version and have it installed with your keys/sensitivity set up.
