IMO the GOTY edition is too expensive, but the base game is worth $28. Here's the recent "what do you think of the game" reddit posts that had a LOT of comments.

I'd argue that anything below $20 is a phenomenal price for a masterpiece like BF1 that will easily give you back hundreds of hours of entertainment.
That said, BF1 has dipped down to $2 many many times. $5 is a great score regardless. One of the best deals in FPS gaming IMO.
