The indoor/main unit with solar seems silly to me. If you put next to window so it can get the sun then the indoor temperature will be not correct. If you use the batteries then what the point of solar lol.

I have their 4 zones model (main unit + 3 remote sensors). The solar panel is just a light sensor. It tells when to turn on the LCD backlight. It doesn't charge the battery as far as I know

The 4th picture above brags about extending the battery life with solar power. If it were a light sensor, it would only have to be the size of a pinhead.
I have two of the just simple Baldr thermometer/hygrometer versions with solar panels. One only runs on solar power, no battery inside, and it goes out as soon as it gets dark. Kind of pointless. The other one has a battery inside which gets charged I guess. Anyway, they're ok overall. I was impressed however with their accuracy, they matched my multiple Govee thermometers which are quite accurate. Both temperature and humidity.
I had bad luck with this brand weather station about a year ago. May have got a lemon. Never accurate. Returned and bought a bigger brand with no issues. Good luck.

Don't know if that's true. I know it doesn't work if I removed the batteries and put it next to bright light.
The model I got also claimed extend battery life.

It doesn't need the sun to charge the battery. Any indoor light creates a charge.
