I've had this plan for two years now and this is the normal price. I use it for 2FA and for a backup phone. No complaints. Once a month I make a couple calls just to confirm that it is working.

Is it easy to port in a number, particularly from google voice or number barn?

I ported from Google Voice. Infimobile physical SIM into an older iPhone. I haven't used Number Barn.

No need to port in a Google voice number. Just use the Google voice app with the data this comes with. Ignore the phone number you get assigned.

Google voice numbers don't work for all of those websites that require txt msg to log in. They work for a lot of them but not all...

I guess ymmv on that. They work for 99% of the many that I use compared to many years ago. Or just do a passkey at this point, to just need your face or finger unlock. Or 2 factor authentication. If you really want that number, keeping it on GV is the key. For the slim chance none of those options work, just use the number it does come with. Fairly simple to change the number if you go with another carrier after the year.
