This Onn 256 GB microSD Express card is mainly attractive for Switch 2 and other Express devices, where it can deliver much faster speeds, while still working in older devices at reduced UHS 1 speeds. The price looks strong versus other cards, and the bundle has been getting through with some promo code combinations and store pickup. The main concern is reliability, with multiple reports of cards failing after months to a little over a year, including replacements. It is a solid value on paper, but long term durability is the big question.
Common Questions (4)
They can work, but not consistently across accounts. Some shoppers got DOUBLE10 to apply while FAST30 failed, while others reported both codes no longer working even after adding the filler item and choosing pickup.
Some cards have lasted through launch and are still working, but multiple reports say Onn cards failed after about 4 months, 7 months, or a little over a year, including replacement units. That makes it a riskier choice if you need dependable storage for photos or saves.
Yes. In a Switch 2 or other Express-capable device, it can reach much higher speeds; in an original Switch, phone, camera, or PC reader without Express support, it still works for storage but only at the device's supported speeds.
Yes, the 256GB price is described as a steal versus current regular microSD pricing, and it is also lower than many other Onn listings on eBay. The tradeoff is that Walmart pickup can be slow and the card is only faster than standard cards when used in an Express-capable device.
