This Onn 256 GB microSD Express card is mainly attractive for Switch 2 and other Express devices, where it can deliver much faster speeds, while still working in older devices at reduced UHS 1 speeds. The price looks strong versus other cards, and the bundle has been getting through with some promo code combinations and store pickup. The main concern is reliability, with multiple reports of cards failing after months to a little over a year, including replacements. It is a solid value on paper, but long term durability is the big question.
The card can deliver higher speeds in Switch 2 or other MicroSD Express-capable devices.
The card remains usable in non-Express devices while operating at reduced UHS-1 speeds.
The Onn-branded flash storage is reportedly a rebranded PNY product from a major SD manufacturer.
The deal can be comparatively cheaper than other SD options for similar capacity.
Promo codes DOUBLE10 and FAST30 reportedly fail for some accounts, making the deal harder to complete.
The promo codes reportedly stop working for some shoppers even after following the banana and store pickup steps.
Onn Express cards reportedly fail after months of use, including cases involving warranty replacement issues.
Walmart pickup can involve delays that affect how quickly the card is available.
