This Onn 256 GB microSD Express card stands out as a cheap way to add fast storage for a Switch 2, with backward compatibility for older devices at slower UHS 1 speeds. The price looks strong versus other cards, and the same Onn line is described as working well in Switch 2 use. The main concern is reliability, since multiple cards have failed after months to a little over a year, including light use. It is a solid value if you want Express support, but long term durability is the question.
The card can deliver higher speeds when used in a Switch 2 or other MicroSD Express capable devices.
The card can still store data on non-Express devices while operating at reduced UHS-1 speeds.
The Onn-branded flash storage is reportedly a rebranded PNY product, which may help explain performance expectations.
The deal can be comparatively cheaper than other SD options, including higher-priced Samsung Pro pricing mentioned in comments.
The promo codes DOUBLE10 and FAST30 reportedly failed for some accounts, making the deal hard to reproduce.
The Express card reportedly failed after about one year in a Switch 2, and another Onn card reportedly failed after roughly seven months.
Warranty replacement support reportedly stalled, with Walmart support providing only a phone number and a replacement reportedly being missed after about a year.
The card reportedly felt cheap to some buyers and prompted return consideration after pickup.
