Community Reviews

This Onn 256 GB microSD Express card stands out as a cheap way to add fast storage for a Switch 2, with backward compatibility for older devices at slower UHS 1 speeds. The price looks strong versus other cards, and the same Onn line is described as working well in Switch 2 use. The main concern is reliability, since multiple cards have failed after months to a little over a year, including light use. It is a solid value if you want Express support, but long term durability is the question.

Neither code worked. Luckily I have couple of $10 off $50 from Amex Offer and used that instead. Urgent need one for a card for security cam.
This is a bit of overkill for a security camera, you could get by with a regular microSD card.

Got an Onn 512 for my Switch 2 and it works very well. I think I paid around $80. If you're on the fence about this brand; don't be bc a major SD manufacturer actually makes the hardware. Onn buys and rebrands them
That means nothing. NAND is heavily binned. It could be from the best company but still low-binned garbage. BTW, there are only about half a dozen companies that manufacture NAND.

You should really get a high endurance card for a security camera.

Thanks! I was able to combine this with my favorite cherub tomatoes instead of a banana.

Yep. Added a banana. Added 512 card. Set both for pickup. Used both codes. Neither valid. Removed 512 card, added 256 card. Same result.

No banana for me I guess.

Picked up the card this afternoon w/ the banana lol. Seems like a cheap card. Might return it since I haven't gotten the Amex Offer email yet.

Its sad 37.00 is considered a good price for 14.00 memory.
2026 stinks for any electronics with smt/smd memory, unfortunately, 2027 and beyond will only be worse. going to be years before the price comes down (or inflation catches the new standardized prices)

Had the same one in my my switch 2 and it only lasted one year
This is also my experience, with 2 different Onn cards. First one failed, and a replacement failed the same way. I barely play it too.
I believe the people who say they work fine, just sharing my experience. I'll prob try a 3rd time at this price.

My store has it.. Are these backwards compatible for a phone?
Sorry someone downvoted you, I think it's a fair question, so I looked it up.

A 256 GB MicroSD Express card inserted into a Nintendo Switch 2 or another Express-capable device can achieve much higher speeds.
The same card inserted into an original Nintendo Switch, a phone, camera, or PC card reader that lacks Express support should still work for storage, but only at the speeds supported by that device.

Presumably though you should be able to find a non-express 256GB for cheaper than the new and improved version, but we aren't living in rational times so who knows. I guess future-proofing makes sense too.

My Onn 512gb also failed. It lasted a little over a year.
My Onn 512 GB actually is still going and doing well. I bought mine at launch and actually sold it at the same price I bought it last year to a friend of mine. She is still not having any issues.

On the other hand, I upgraded to that outrageously expensive Lexar 1TB from the Costco deal this year but I needed the extra space for these games.
