I would personally save the 500 and wait another year or two for next gen for a more noticeable upgrade. Especially if you're still getting acceptable performance.

There is definitely no rush since I'm at least 5 years behind on most major titles. Plus, this would be close to a 550 upgrade as I'm in a 9% tax territory

Bought this card for $430 from Amazon a little over a month ago only because my 6800xt crapped out. $790 retail? Really? These increasing prices are insane.

The new pricing model is to add $$$ for any increase in performance until a GPU is completely obsolete. So if the performance of a next gen GPU is 2x a 9060xt, then it's price will be 2x. If you want a $500 gpu that's going to be 2x the performance of a 9060xt, then the 9060xt will need to fall to $250.

Then wait for sure. Prices are ridiculous because of AI, but it won't last forever. Don't give them the satisfaction.

This only happened once Jensen realized people were willing to pay absurd prices during COVID. At some point there is a limit to how much people are willing to pay.

they are all over ebay for around $550-ish for new, less for used or open box. Seems like maybe a deal if you are lucky enough to have a microcenter store less than an hours driving distance.

Interesting. What are you considering? Are you only looking for a GPU or other components as well.
