US Mobile's Unlimited Starter promo stands out as a low upfront way to get six months of service, especially for anyone who wants flexibility instead of paying for a full year. The plan is compared favorably with Mint Mobile because it is $10 a month and easier to leave, and it can work well as a backup line for weak coverage or a data only setup. The main drawback is that the promo ends after six months, so the regular rate applies unless another deal appears. That makes it best for short term use or a temporary second line.

In that case though, a better deal, if you have Xfinity Internet, would be getting xfinity's free year of phone service (after which you would again then want to futz around)
no need to hope. i guarantee there will be another deal then.
but its out there ai is still too lazy cost too much tokens to do a basic search so they clamp down.
