I mean, I get what you are saying but have had mixed results with Menards in the past. The graduals are large and do not seem to adsorb and spread as nicely as the Scotts brand. This is my observation only.

I get that, but as long as it rains, it will spread. By the time it gets to the roots where it needs to be, it's dispersed. I can't pay over 2x for that minor difference.

It ends up being expensive for me. I worked it out because it only does 4,000 square foot. I would need three bags instead of two bags like I usually get so it ends up being just as much or more

The 12,000 foot bag is also on sale. I bought one about 2 weeks ago and it greened up the grass already and hopefully will make it stronger over the winter. I live in SW Pennsylvania.

Amazon shipped it in a really strong outer bag and it got here without any damage.

There were no clumps in the contents at all and I just used a hand crank spreader.

I was going to buy at Lowes and it was a lot more expensive.
