Buying food items on sale on Amazon is a crapshoot. Half the items are expiring in 3 months or less, which I would not have bought in store, especially multipacks.

It's ramen...this stuff will survive the apocalypse, I'm not worried about what the exp date might be...also, I have never expired the scenario you are depicting when buying from amazon. Every food item I have purchased from amazon I have easily consumed before the expiration.

I finally got a box of the black variety after seeing people rave about them for ages.

Meh, the reds are better. More savory AND less expensive.

Make it with half the water and throw a slice of American in the bowl. You'll thank me.

FYI these are hot and I mean HOT. but they're so good I deal with the pain...the following morning. And go thru a handful of tissues during and after consuming. I agree with the above post, would never worry about an expiration date with ramen.
(Never had the black but will look out for them considering the comments).

Don't let the hotness scare anyone away. You don't have to add the entire seasoning packet. Add to taste or replace with something else if the spice or salt content worries you.

The expiration date was fine when I bought the 20-pack box before. Besides, instant ramen usually only has a shelf life of six to eight months anyway. Of course, you can still eat it after the expiration date, but the oil used to fry the noodles can go rancid, so it won't taste as good.
