Not knocking on the OP. I liked Sony since I was a kid. Owned every console. But with what they are doing with digital only, and how your digital purchases are not permanent and they can take it away whenever they want has turned me away. This would have been a good deal, but just know it's technically not buying or owning.

I'm in full agreement. But I also have sorta realized that once the market has reached saturation, this is what all publicly traded companies do; squeeze every dime out of their existing player bases dry. Gaming can only grow so much and it's topped out.

The only option is to wait for a major disruptor, that risks eroding Sony's current marketshare. That would threaten them and force them to be competitive again. Steam machine would have done it if component prices weren't so high. But because of that, players are locked into whatever current ecosystem they got, since switching systems or upgrading is too costly. Things are gonna be bad for probably the next decade, as gaming gets too expensive, so gamers have to be more selective; especially with the lack of consumer rights with digital.
