torque requirement is only around 100 ft-lbs, give or take a bit, 140 should be adequate for the average DIYer..

As for this, I just got the "better" 850 and honestly I am so disappointed at the DCF850, even though I got it for $100 with 5Ahr battery, I am seriously considering returning that, it's WAY TOO FAST. It's really weird, you think you are going to install few screws on treated 2x4's to mount something, forget about it. They will NOT drive on speed 1, and will strip on speed 2. So before anyone says "get 850" no, more powerful and bigger is not always better if you are DIY and not a deck builder.
Really weird, I think it's made for deck builders or frame builders or something to just drive nuts on bolts or install lag bolts or something. I really don't understand why it's no inconsistent. My 15+ year old one does a better job, It's just I cannot find batteries anymore for it, no more 12V OEM battery replacements cheap, easier to get new driver.
This 840 is also probably much easier to handle as it will be lighter, the 850 with 5A is way too heavy although bare will be lighter.
Hmm, 840 seems to be more powerful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D...en0
