I filter down to the 1star reviews before buying things. This and combo make me uneasy. People getting used returns. Fwd rvs button not working. Chuck problems. Battery and charger problems. I almost wonder if scumpeople are buying the fake batteries and returning the item with those and keeping the good batteries? Scumpeople always find a way to ruin it for everyone. If you didn't know the fakes and fake tools have videos of them being taken apart and they don't use the same parts and quality is very bad.
I watched a video of cut open battery but this confirms my fake tool return theory.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we1GYoSb95I fake battery tests. I've seen others where they also only put in half the small batteries inside so they were super weak.

I've bought all of my DeWALT tools at Lowe's and never had a problem of any kind. I think you're focusing on some pretty fringe stuff. Look at the stellar review scores for DeWALT power tools on Lowes.com, and Home Depot for that matter, and you should be reassured they are not selling used / fake DeWALT products. If you're still concerned, pick up the tool at the store and examine it before leaving.

I have also. If you can't understand a few people switching the fakes into boxes and returning it you can believe that way. I have also read comments before where people said they did that. I stopped buying things where the tape seal was broken. Too many returned items missing things or people steal things out of the box. Examples include a ceiling fan with remote missing. I returned it and got the only other one there what was also retaped and the mounting brackets and screws were missing. I don't think you get it.

I think he does get it. I don't understand what your point is. No one is claiming this never happens. Are you just here to advocate for people have more fear and anxiety?

A giant big box retailer sometimes gets duped by shitty customers and when you shop there you run a small risk of unwittingly purchasing a fake item? I agree this would be a very annoying thing to have happen.

But what is your proposed solution? Make your own tools? Travel to the factory in China to get yours right off the assembly line? Or just purchase them and hope for the best, knowing that in the unlikely event that you buy one one of these fakes, you can simply return it yourself and receive a refund or replacement?

I agree with what YOU said. I was saying look at all the 1star reviews on various sites and explain them. I would bet money he didn't bother and he did say "they are NOT selling fake tools" which isn't what you or I said. So he did claim it never happens. I posted a video and could post more of people who have had this happen. I bought half dozen dewalts and I'm not paranoid but raising the issue that might explain some of the 1stars. I came across a treehouse building tool video yesterday and his dewalt died. It probably wasn't a fake tool. My small vacuum sucks, well literally and figuratively but my other tools of Dewalt are good.
I don't recall if it was yt comments or reddit people saying they were doing what I said. I don't like posting scams because there are always a few ignorant and naive people who don't get it and argue it never happens just because they don't know and they know everything.
IDK the solution. For the individual yes look if it is unused and buy it from the store not shipped if you can. I said I do that. Return it yes. In the bigger picture IDK better screening on returns and only accept them eg if they have a "bond" posted like a credit card that can be charged to them if it's a fake. This would require ALL returned items shipped to a eg Dewalt certifier. They don't want the cost or hassle so they either return them to the shelf or auction off 'lots' (pallets) of items.
I'm guessing you don't read the bad reviews also of people getting used returned items because it causes you "fear and anxiety". Some people like do be educated and avoid things, others prefer to just be naive and let things play out. Being educated isn't paranoia.

Why don't you explain to us if there are any problems buying from amazon? Are some products more problematic? Why and is there anything you can do? I assure you they are not selling fake or used products right. By the way I order from amazon every single day. So you can skip the paranoid theory.
