The Pixel 10 Pro XL comes across as a strong large-screen Pixel for photos, updates, and, in some cases, better battery, heat, reception, and fingerprint performance than earlier models. The 10XL is described as a meaningful fix over the 9XL for those long running Pixel issues, and the phone is also called great for desk work. The main drawback is price, with the $849 tag seen as too high versus older Pixels, Swappa, and newer Pixel 11 offers. A few comments also flag weak battery life and slower app opening, making it feel like a premium phone with a premium price.
The phone can deliver usable fingerprint performance when the thumb is centered properly during scanning.
The 10XL upgrade reportedly improved battery life, heating, and reception compared with a 9XL experience.
The deal may be attractive because full-price Amazon purchase reportedly provides an unlocked phone out of the box.
The phone may suit buyers who prioritize prompt software updates and decent photos over raw speed.
The $849 price is criticized as overpriced compared with cheaper Swappa listings.
Battery life and app opening speed are criticized as poor, with slower performance than a used S22+.
The upgrade is rejected by buyers who already own a Pixel 8 Pro and do not see the value at this price.
The deal is challenged as not compelling versus prior pricing, with claims that new units were around $900 and later dropped to about $450.
