I bought mine last December. It was also a refurb from Acer. I only had one issue and that was the laptop would crash every blue moon when firing up a game. I found out it was an issue with Acer's own power switching in the laptop's app. I switched it to use Nvidia Optimus to make the switch between the integrated and 5070ti. I haven't had an issue since.

Curious how did you switch it?

I own a version. Love it. Battery runs out quickly when playing games, so keep it plugged in on the original power supply if those are your plans, but it'll even charge up on a 65 watt usb-c adapter. I believe I got the 4070 edition. It is kind of heavy.

Bought this exact laptop from the same eBay seller (possibly same listing) last Nov for $1249. Cosmetic condition was like new, without any signs of use.

A year later, it still works perfectly fine, temps on both CPU and GPU stay below 80C under full load. It does restart occasionally, but more often than not, those were annoying Windows updates.

As for switching GPUs via Nvidia Optimus per Kevin's comment - haven't tried that yet, but it does sound promising Smilie

Was it the exact same specs? Or a diff graphics card

I have had this laptop since the summer of last year, same model. Funny enough, I think I paid just about the same price. It has been great, and at the time memory was still pretty cheap, so I added more RAM and upgraded the SSD, which were both easy to do.

Two quirks, not deal killers.

First, it runs hot, so a cooling pad is a good idea. Note that this is a slim model, so it just can't dissipate heat as well as regular size laptops. I have another Acer with a 5090, but it's not a slim model, and it cools just fine on its own. Second, there is probably something latent that consumes power in the laptop, because if you don't use it as your primary machine, after about a month the battery will discharge on its own and it will not charge even if you put the power adapter on the machine for hours. Easy fix: plug it in, hold the power button down for a minute, and it resets whatever is going on, and everything is back to normal. The charging light comes on, give it a few minutes, and it starts right up.

I got this same deal when it was under $1300 not too long ago. Zero issues and works great. The biggest downside is that because it's the slim version the GPU is limited to 115 watts, which means about a 20% drop in FPS, but still plenty fast even for modern games. The other downside is the screen, while being a great looking OLED, is only able to run at 240 hz, which has the effect of consuming a ton of battery. Mine gets maybe an hour and a half on battery just doing basic web browsing.
