I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
It does remove the annual dance of making a new account which isn't worthless, but I'm not sure it's that amazing of a slickdeal. Great for set it and forget it folks though.
Edit: reading it again, it seems like the play is to make WM+ your "main" by adding on Sam's for $22, then hope that you can still get the occasional $49.99 base renewal offer when canceling. It sounds like if you link existing accounts for both then Sam's becomes your main at $120/year, and I haven't personally seen discounted renewals when canceling with Sam's.
Community Reviews
This bundle ties Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus together, with the strongest appeal being that existing members can often link accounts and get the other membership included or prorated. The linking flow is usually done through the Walmart or Sam's app, and successful activations have triggered refunds ranging from a few dollars to much larger prorated amounts. The main catch is that the price can vary by current membership status, renewal timing, and account setup, so some checkouts show far more than the advertised add on amount. Email mismatches, secondary accounts, expired memberships, and Amex monthly credits can also block or complicate the process, making it a useful but finicky combo.
Account linking can trigger a prorated Walmart+ refund after connecting memberships.
Existing Sam's Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ without paying extra after linking accounts.
Linking can be completed from within the Sam's Club app using a pop-up or button prompt.
Some shoppers report that combining memberships can reduce delivery costs for regular delivery routines.
Upgrade pricing can differ from the advertised "as little as $22" amount and show higher charges at checkout.
Account linking can fail with errors, especially when emails differ or when Walmart+ is tied to another account.
Prorated refunds can be small depending on timing, including cases showing only a $7 refund.
Walmart+ delivery may require a minimum $35 spend, which can limit savings for smaller orders.

But I for sure don't need Sam's Club.
I also did a price comparison of Walmart and Sam's club items for a party and surprisingly Walmart was cheaper. Very strange
Not only that, but every time we've tried to setup a Walmart pickup, it somehow takes them 15-30 min to round it up and bring it out after arriving. Even when the "already on my way option" is used.
Lastly my particular Walmart is really bad about stocking just about anything in the store, so it's always a crapshoot wether or not they have it. It's honestly pathetic a company that big has trouble keeping basic items in stock.
Looking at the numbers. Linked my account. Upgraded (prorated) my Sam's Club membership and got a refund for my Walmart+ membership. I still have both.
$12 dollars for a delivery adds up, especially if you do a monthly or bimonthly delivery. That's why I should have done it sooner. I'll probably get a delivery next week with some steaks or lamb for Halloween.
