Nuts. I just returned a similar Amazon deal with 2TB storage that was $2300.

I replaced it with MC sale of m5 pro 48GB with 1TB For $2500. I rather have more ram than storage and slightly more cores

The extra 3 CPU cores and 4 GPU cores with double the RAM for only $500 more is worth it in my opinion.

I just hope I don't get banned from Amazon. I had to return a couple of high price items recently.

24GB extra ram is like $400 to me
the extra cpu/mem, I think $200 to me.

I can run some local LLM on the Mac (I usually route t my 5090 servers).
I can run some VMs locally without worrying about ram.

convenience has a price!!

Great deal. I bought the similarly specced Amazon for $2079 last week, but I figure that's a slightly better deal with 5% back Prime Visa plus 5% Student cash back.

OTOH, I'm wary of buying expensive electronics from Amazon and their ship date is literally some time between Nov 1 and Nov 30 which is not good.

Might just cancel it and go down to microcenter

I am curious, how is 'Free Pickup' a flex? You're going to the physical store to pick up the item. Isn't that the default?
