This seems better than a 7800x3d deal but a 7600x3d from mc is even better value no?
7700x3D and 7800X3D are both 8 core cpus, the 7700X3D is a tiny bit slower and uses less power. 7600X3D is a 6 core part, so it's about 3/4 of the 7800X3D. For some things it doesn't matter that much, as it can go as fast as the 7800X3D. On other things (multi-threaded applications, some games) more cores makes a noticeable difference. All three have extra cache (built-in memory) that helps a lot with games.
Edit: That is to say, if you want a fast gaming cheaply, the 7600X3D is a good deal. If you want more power and versatility, you can consider the 8 core parts. Which is the "best" deal depends on the prices, and your needs.

A lot of the times when the 7800X3D went on sale, I don't recall ever seeing it get as low as $300. And for it to include a PSU seems like icing on the cake for anyone in the market for a gaming CPU, but not necessarily wanting to pay a premium for the 9800/50X3D. W/ that being said, I'm curious to see if NewEgg will have the 7800X3D on sale for even less come BF...
Enticing, but I'm locked out of AM5 upgrade until ddr5 prices come down from being outrageously prohibitive. And I'm talking about getting 32 GB for a system build.

Also: If you have any plans to livestream games, get the 8-core. Some CPU-hungry games can use enough of a 6-core to starve the streaming software of CPU cycles, leading to dropped frames / freezing of the stream. The 2 extra cores in the 8-core eliminate the issue.
I have a power supply and 2 sticks of DDR4 16gb ram. I'm torn between getting the latest and greatest or just using old tech until prices get back to earth.
