Requiring a Steam account to redeem Steam codes is normal, but this is the first time I've seen a 3rd party vendor require connecting your whole steam account to them to be able to make purchases. That seems abnormal & risky.

I haven't tested, but a Reddit comment says
"You can also redeem the Steam key on digiphile, then copy the key.
It wasn't the case at the very beginning but it's doable since the last few bundles."

Thanks for the heads-up. Makes passing on this even faster.
I'll reiterate for clarity to the vendor in case one of their reps is ever reading this: I am a user who has voluntarily connected my Steam account on Fanatical on the basis that they claim to consider my already-owned games not only for store recommendations, but to avoid giving me duplicates of already-owned games anytime I buy into their mystery bundles. The value proposition to me for that is clear and desirable.
Requiring me to connect my Steam account in a similar manner to a vendor I have no prior familiarity or relationship with, for zero intuitive benefit, is exactly what fully stopped me from making this purchase on a bundle whose title alone would normally put me into "shut up and take my money" mode.

edit: looks like that may not be possible anymore.
