It's Ok, but mostly garbage vegetable proteins. You get far better nutrition per gram from a real fruit and vegetable powder. Here's a comparison I did between this one and an Amazing Grass product, showing 2 to 16 or so times the nutrition per gram:

To compare the nutritional density per gram, we can analyze the shared vitamins and minerals from the provided labels.
  • Serving Sizes:
    • Orgain: 57g
    • Amazing Grass: 8g
  • Vitamin C per gram:
    • Orgain: 41mg / 57g = 0.72 mg/g
    • Amazing Grass: 90mg / 8g = 11.25 mg/g
  • Potassium per gram:
    • Orgain: 60mg / 57g = 1.05 mg/g
    • Amazing Grass: 130mg / 8g = 16.25 mg/g
  • Calcium per gram:
    • Orgain: 50mg / 57g = 0.88 mg/g
    • Amazing Grass: 30mg / 8g = 3.75 mg/g
  • Iron per gram:
    • Orgain: 5.7mg / 57g = 0.10 mg/g
    • Amazing Grass: 1.7mg / 8g = 0.21 mg/g
Based on this step-by-step per-gram breakdown of their shared micronutrients, the Amazing Grass powder contains significantly higher concentrations of these vitamins and minerals. It is accurate to conclude that the latter is far more nutritionally dense on a per-gram basis.

If you are in a survival situation, or travelling and trying to avoid airport food (lesser of two evils), and/or need the calories or protein, maybe, but, generally, no.

What about the protein per serving? I can also take a multivitamin and mineral supplement to get everything Amazing Grass has.

Amazing grass does a terrible job with flavor and mix ability. And the price for the protein drink is really expensive compared to orgain.

I think he's going by price per serving. Orgain has 20 servings while Amazing Grass claims 60 servings (but very low protein). The vitamin and mineral content he lists can also be found in a multivitamin, so I see no advantage in Amazing Grass.

If this tastes anything like their non-dairy shakes, I'll pass.

Brown rice & Sunfolwer (seed) oil, creamer base (?) and a lot of delicious blends.....pass.

"Brown rice contains inorganic arsenic. It typically has about 1.5 to 1.8 times more arsenic than white rice"

"Sunflower oil is an industrial seed oil. Like other seed oils, it's a major source of inflammatory omega-6 fats in modern diets."

I got it from costco but will be returning it. I see good reviews for the flavor but to me it was terrible, tons of stevia I guess?

Stevia wasn't the problem, it just didn't taste good to me. Mind you, if you're dairy sensitive, this might be a good move for you. I bought 3 cases of the non-dairy shakes at Costco and ended up returning 2 of them, almost done with the case I did keep. To be fair, taste is subjective, for example I've been eating Costco's 10g protein bars which I really like, gave one to my friend and he hated it. 42 bars in a box I couldn't beat the price, however Wink

They're terrible. Just bought some at Costco. Never again. Otherwise I love the brand.
