Attached is a lamp I printed yesterday with the translucent light blue color. I also printed the obligatory benchy and a small fidget toy to get a guage on dimensional accuracy and it was much better than the previous transparent PLA I have used.

The Bambu 001 led light. I bought a bunch of them from Aliexpress a while back as it's much cheaper than buying from Bambu

Wonder if it's better to use PETG transparent for lamps and stuff that is exposed to a bit of heat? Since PETG has a higher melting point?

It depends which lamp you use. The LED 001 doesn't get hot enough to effect pla. I've used it in many lamps, lithopane frames and globes without any issues. I'm sure there are other lights as well that would be fine with pla, but most of the predesigned profiles on Makerworld use the 001 so that's the light I use.
