Great studio monitors. I keep reading about hiss but I had these connected to a couple of different laptops (upgraded) using a Line 6 Amplifi TT audio interface, and then to a Linux server using a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22 audio interface, and have never noticed any hiss. I bought the JBL 306Ps when they were on sale several years back, connected to the Amplifi TT, and no hiss from those either. The settings on the back of all the speakers were only adjusted to accommodate for the distance from the wall. I also use XLR to 1/4" cable to connect like these.

Connection to them is a little complicated, not really plug and play.

You do not want 5" subs. This is midrange. If you have a 8" sub, these might work in a 2.1 setup. For bottom, mid and your highs ... shoot for 7" subs.

SPEAKERS have WOOFERS, not "subs."

A "sub" is a SUBWOOFER.

I do agree that speakers with bigger woofers do offer undeniable benefits. Which is why JBL also makes the 306p and 308p, both on sale ($120 and $150 each respectively, also on Amazon) as well, for those who can have bigger speakers in their space.

I don't get it. What's so complicated about plugging an RCA-to-XLR cable (https://a.co/d/058PVWU7) between these speakers and either pre-amp outputs, a mini-TSR Y-adapter (https://a.co/d/08bLhGAy), bluetooth adapter (https://a.co/d/07fGLY7a), wifi adapter (https://a.co/d/02AUjisv) or audio adapter (https://a.co/d/0hHZVhEb)?

Simple as 1-2-3.
