Community Reviews
The JBL 305p is a compact studio monitor that stands out for clean sound and strong value in a small setup. Long-term use reports describe it as great for music, guitar, and desktop listening, with no audible hiss in some chains and balanced connections helping keep noise down. The main caveat is setup, since getting the right cables or adapters can take a little work, and hiss can still show up depending on the interface or electrical circuit. Its 5 inch woofer is best treated as midrange, so a sub may be needed for fuller bass.

For movies, TV, or gaming, I doubt it'd be worth the extra expense. You'd be much better off spending that extra money on a budget sub with a high pass filter, imo.
