Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 stands out as a media tablet, with a 12.1 inch 2.5K 120Hz LCD, loud clear rear speakers, and a built in kickstand ring that makes it easy to prop up or carry. The audio is strong enough for podcasts, news, dialog, and video watching, and the tablet can even pair as a Bluetooth speaker. Performance feels fast for everyday apps and streaming, but the Dimensity 7400 and USB 2.0 are more midrange than flagship, and heavy 3D gaming can expose limits. Software support is shorter than Samsung rivals, so it suits entertainment first and gaming or long update cycles less well.

If your goal is consumption, this tablet will be very difficult to beat. Only pratfall will be if you are a gaming type, that 7400 will reveal itself pushing that many pixels.

But for most standard use cases, this is a hell of deal. Even with the shorter software update cycle.

This isn't your phone, after all.

I got a fire tablet and I hate it. Only because of the way they lock the Home screen and no Google play store
You can install a different launcher, like Nova Launcher. For the Play Store do a Google search for "Amazon Fire Toolbox"

I need 8" android. I have the mini iPad and I love the size in struggling to find android tablet in that size with great performances.I don't want to buy Chinese brand.
Check out the Onn 8" tablet from Walmart, its not a powerhouse but suits the needs of many..

have a look at this, not made by me..

I also switched to an iPad Mini when Samsung stopped making their 8" tablets.

The newest Amazon tablets are the pro ones, they feature the Google play store
Why pay twice the price to Amazon only to then have to use workarounds for basic customization? I am missing the point here.

It's cheaper, but how is it better. The 12 inch Pro Amazon tablet uses Dimensity 8400 which is one generation ahead than this, and you can get up to 16gb of RAM
My usage of tablet is watch videos 90% of the time. 16GB or 8GB ram, fastest CPU don't matters to me, I have my gaming PC. Screen/sound quality, smooth video... then price.

I hate that so many don't support video output anymore. For some of those prices that's the least they could include.

Please look at video reviews of this. It has a metal kickstand ring and a large rear speaker. I have 2 of these and you will not find better audio on any tablet ever made.Podcasts, voice, newscasts, TV/Movie dialog, etc... They all sound loud and clear without needing headphones. You will have to live with the weight. I think it's the only downside. It is heavy but most of the time you are using the kickstand/ring that you can also use to hang this on door knobs and cabinet knobs. Great to use as a handle when moving it around. You can use this as a bluetooth speaker as well. I.E. it will pair via bluetooth as a bluetooth speaker. Performance is great as long as you don't play heavy 3D games. It's fast and responsive for non-3D apps/games.Only caveat is you only get OS updates to Android 18 and 4 years of security updates. Lenovo reserves it's 5-6 year OS updates for its high end tablets. As with most Lenovo tablets the build quality is superb.
Maybe it's just me, but speaker quality is about the last thing I'm concerned about when it comes to tablets. I use a tablet as a personal media device, i.e. something that I can use without disturbing others. If I'm watching a video, I've got headphones on or earbuds in 99% of the time.

It'd be like trying to sell me on the the camera quality. I know tablets have certain features built in, but they aren't things I ever use. My priority is a tablet that runs smoothly, has a decent picture, and ideally has expandable memory.

Only US Android brands I can even think of are Walmart and Amazon with their Onn and Fire tablets respectively. You really think these companies are better than Chinese companies?

Stick with Apple then.
