Micro Center apparently has it for $9.99 in store, so same price either way. Does it hold with a MagSafe case on?

I've had for a while, found it a bit unwieldy on the plane, had to remove and reposition when moving tray up and down and it became annoying. The clamp is tricky and tight to operate, easy to slip out of your hands or pinch a finger. I recently picked up another LISEN device advertised here recently that's made of plastic and has a different design, has a rechargeable light in front and friendlier clamp, and it moves into quite a range of positions. It's not MagSafe but a clamp design for holding the phone. Was going to return it because it's a bit long, but decided to keep because it also has a 1/4" tripod mount, as well as a photo shoe mount, and also can double as a short selfie handle or clamp onto a table, suitcase pole, what have you. Will be testing it soon on a long flight, leaving this MagSafe clamp at home.

The $9.85 needs code NMSGJSK6; without it Amazon is $13.95, so Micro Center's $9.99 wins. The listing only says 'for MagSafe', no case details.

Amazon's description calls the tight clamp deliberate, a dual-spring grip for turbulence. Doesn't fix the tray shuffle, though.

i have THREE of these. i keep one at camp, one in my golf bag for the golf cart and one in my personal bag. so clutch for more occasions than you think other than the obvious airplane. use them in other people's cars, airbnb's, parks wherever. the other thing i always carry is a mag safe charge that unfolds into an apple watch charger or works as a stand. the other indispensable phone accessory!

I've had two of these so far, primarily used in the kitchen to hold my phone near the stove for easy view of recipes (or just to keep my phone off the counter) while I'm cooking. Unfortunately they each started breaking after about a year; small black bits would fall off when I removed my phone, and one one it basically shot the spring out of the base when I was moving it. I'd like to think that even for $10 they could last a bit longer, but I wouldn't expect it out of these anymore.

Does that mean I'm not buying another? Nope. Just too darn convenient.
