I bought it last year for my nephew but a couple of days later, Amazon had the DeWalt DWMT75049 set on sale for $98. I returned the Craftsman set and bought the DeWalt. Better set quality wise. less filler, better case. Craftsman is standard alloy steel while the DeWalt is chrome vanadium.

I have had this set for several years and it has been pretty good. Just wish the 1/2" sockets weren't 12 point, but otherwise a decent set

same but I find that I almost never use chrome sockets on 1/2. I go straight to Dewalt 1/2 impact wrench and 1/2 impact sockets. Lowe's has the Craftsman 1/2 impact on clearance as new design is being released.

The main reason to get this is if you are into the Craftsman versastack / DeWalt tstak system. It's a really convenient set for that system, but it's nothing special if you're buying it as a standalone.

I strongly disagree about a better case. Blow molded plastic cases are the absolute worst tool cases. They waste so much volume and always end up with shit rattling inside the hollow spaces of them that got trapped.

Plus the DeWalt set hasn't seen pricing like that in a year, so it's not really a fair comparison anyway.
