On the other hand, the $30 is everyday price, on eBay, I've been getting this for years.

This Red Pocket eBay plan is mainly a low cost way to keep a line alive with unlimited talk and text plus 200MB of monthly data on the GSMA, AT&T network. The current offer is described as unlimited talk and text, with the old monthly allotments gone, and activation is said to work by buying on eBay and adding the code on Red Pocket's site. The 200MB is tiny and is not meant for real data use, while photo, video, and audio messages can use data unless sent over Wi Fi and RCS. Activation can be finicky, and auto renewal and website management have been described as annoying, so it fits best as a basic backup or number keeping plan.
Families keeping a backup line alive for a child's watch, because the plan has worked well for that use and unlimited talk and text reduce monthly limits.
People who mainly need unlimited calling and texting with only occasional data, because the plan includes unlimited talk and text plus 200MB a month.
People who want a low-cost number to keep active between promos, because the line can be renewed month to month and has been used that way long term.
People comfortable managing activation through support, because customer service can help resolve porting or setup problems.
People who need a line that activates instantly, because activation can take over a day or fail until support intervenes.
People who need dependable mobile data, because 200MB is tiny and the line can run out of minutes and data after being powered off.
People who want to avoid carrier account hassles, because auto-renewal can be difficult to cancel and may attempt to charge again.
People who need hotspot sharing, because the 200MB data allowance does not include hotspot use.

if you can't get it to work after a few tries, call their customer service line, they are pretty helpful with getting issues resolved.
not exactly, the talk and text is now unlimited, it use to have a monthly allotment. https://slickdeals.net/f/15632278-2-50-mo-red-pocket-prepaid-plan-200-talk-1000-text-200mb-per-month-ebay-30?v=1&src=Site

I don't know; my account went dormant and then ordered one of their new sims. It wasn't activating, so I called them to activate it. It took over a day to activate. I had topped up with $5 beforehand when I ordered the sim (thought I paying for just a month with the $5), so maybe that's why! I just wanted to save my number! Try it maybe if your account is still up and running when you login!
