How is that relevant to us?

On the other hand, the $30 is everyday price, on eBay, I've been getting this for years.

This RedPocket eBay plan is mainly a low cost backup line with unlimited talk and text plus 200 megabytes of data each month. The current listing is for GSMA, which is AT and T only, and activation is supposed to be completed within 90 days of purchase. Photo, video, and audio messages can use data, while Wi Fi and RCS can keep them off cellular data. The main cautions are occasional activation hassles and awkward auto renewal handling, so it works best if you want a simple talk and text line and can manage setup carefully.

  • Unlimited talk and text can work well for keeping a line active as a backup number.

    SUCHaDEALSpyrusNViware

  • Online chat support can help with converting a line from GSMT during setup.

    ketamine

  • Photo, video, and audio messaging can avoid cellular data usage when connected to Wi‑Fi.

    SUCHaDEAL

  • The plan can work for a TickTalk watch use case when activation succeeds.

    bonkman

  • Activation can fail or not complete correctly after purchase, requiring troubleshooting.

    SlickMarmot535

  • Auto-renewal may be attempted even when auto-renewal was not enabled, which can be annoying to cancel.

    1moey

  • The eBay listing indicates the plan is GSMA (AT&T) only, which limits compatibility.

    ChaChing23

  • This plan is mainly for talk and text backup use, and it can run out of service when cellular access is needed while traveling.

Textnow Free Plan eSIM uses AT&T also for unlimited calls/texts.

Really?! Because when I activated my TextNow SIM I thought it said T-Mobile.

Id strongly suggest using a virtual credit card and cancelling after the plan starts. I have 4 phones on red pocket. They have tried to hit me with auto renewal despite not having auto renewal on. Id renew on from ebay a couple days before the plan was up and they would try and auto renew.
Never had such issues. 10+ year customer. Always buy on eBay, go their RP website and add the code. The only time I added a card was when the plan expired and I had to go month-to-month for a few before the deals came around Thanksgiving.

You aren't getting this for data. If so, that's a mistake on your part. I used to use this a lot as a backup phone but there was a stretch where I had my phone powered off due to travel but when I powered it on I was out of minutes and data for the month. I had to call to get it fixed but then it happened again so I switched to Infimobile for slightly more.

Is Infimobile reliable? They do not have live customer but self service.

That has changed. TextNow free talk and text is currently on AT&T

Not sure when the change happened or whether is is all areas , but both my TextNow pSim and eSim activated last month on AT&T in NH.

I also just learned Infimobile now has a $30 talk/text on Verizon network. Look at their Deal Buster plan. It is limited: 100min 100text and 500MB per month

photo/video/audio type texts usually use data. however when connected to wifi, they won't.
Make sure you are connected to RCS and Wifi before sending / receiving photo/video messages. You will see a padlock on the Send button before sending the message when connected to RCS.

Anyone using this as a IOT backup access/terminal acess to home servers? If so, with what USB modem?

I can't wait until December to port out my 5th/last and final line from RedPocket!
They used to be awesome, only to dwindle to the bottom of the barrel.
They now have poor incompetent agents, unable to fix issues, continuous problems that take forever to get figured out and fixed.
Hope US Mobile has another awesome BF/CM deal!!!

They have been good enough for a backup line. Work used Verizon exclusively and some of the areas I had to travel to had 0 Verizon service. That was my issue with red pocket, when I needed it, it wouldn't work. Thus far, Infimobile has worked every time. YMMV.

Infimobile 10gb/mo at $75 for a year seems lots of data. How about its wifi? Do you have any problems to connect Wifi or slow connection?
