If you've been printing for a while, you know you need these. If your new to printing, you will discover you need these. Short of getting a dryer cabinet, these are a cost effective way to store your already opened filament rolls.

There are a multitude of other brands and types. However I prefer these Creality versions because it has 1 major advantage over the others...a screw on cap over the vacuum seal location. This keeps the vacuum in the bag longer.

I have used the others and i always seem to need to re-vacuum them because they seem to leak out slowly.

This kit includes the vacuum pump. They also have refills without the vacuum pump.

I buy like 20 bags for less than 10 from Ali and just use a normal vacuum cleaner with a small nozzle. These vacuum that comes with bag are too slow

If you've been printing for a while, you know that "dry your filament" is one of the dumbest things people say whenever a print fails. I swear, if your printer overheated a motor, caused thermal runaway and the printer burned your house down, some idiot on reddit would blame "wet filament".

Did you know you can buy desiccant and large Ziploc bags and accomplish the same result much cheaper? 8 bags? Who has ONLY 8 rolls of open filament? Seriously!

also, OP doesn't show reputation level and one of the original links looks like he was trying to use his Amazon associates link to get paid by posting this (not knowing that Slickdeals would overwrite the URL with their own affiliate code).

Sorry, but this is written like an ad and Creality is one of the least respected 3d printing brands out there.

Agreed on the small vacuum pump. But the bags you buy on ali are inferior to these, I know because I've used them also. These have a screw on cap for a superior seal.

I think it all depends upon your storage mechanism. I prefer using hygrometers, desiccant trays, and one cereal container per roll.

  1. Sometimes, yes drying filament is used as a catch all phrase for poor prints but that doesn't negate the fact that using dry filament is a necessity.
  2. If storing a roll of filament in a ziplock bag with just a desiccant packet was good enough then manufactures of filament would do it to save costs and wouldn't go through the expense and labor of using a vacuum sealer.
  3. This is a starter kit of 8 bags and an accessory kit with the vacuum pump. Like i said in the description, there are refillable options AND i consider this a superior design because of the screw on cap that goes over the seal.
  4. This OP, me, isn't using a affiliate link. I used the share link on my own amazon page. Apparently it gets blocked like an affiliate link. The second one is the copy and paste version from the URL Bar.
  5. Thank you for the compliment on my writing. I am educated and can write pretty well which intimidates some readers who are not used to quality writing and descriptions. I refuse to dumb it down for them. This isn't the first time I have been accused of this.
  6. Say what you will about Creality. I have been using their products since 2016. I have used other brands. They ALL have there strengths and weaknesses, ups and downs. Everyone has their favorites.

Exactly lol. There are a lot of clueless people on slickdeals as well who think drying filament is the cure to everything. I always laugh.

I wish there was a financially optimized alternative solution than these bags. I find them fail 70% of the time, letting in air and compromising the material.
