it's a good price if you need the batteries but the brushless router is much better. i think they're just trying to get rid of these. (it's not even listed on the ryobi site anymore)

I don't trust their batteries. I have 4 in the garage that doesn't want to charge. If you google ryobi battery this is common.

Good to know. I'll skip getting started in Ryobi then. This sale btw is buy the batteries and get a free tool. I think they are brushed tools I looked hard nothing I wanted of the 8. What I want just dropped in price is their vacuum that fits on a 5gal bucket and I see today dropped in price all the way to $35 tool only. Add battery was like $80 more so I'll pass altogether then.

I own 4 ryobi batteries, zero have failed in ~5 years. I have this router and I love using it. It is not large and you can likely find something more precise- but I have not been disappointed by this tool's ability to sculpt edges or carve out holes. I'll be making a chair next and using this tool will be my favorite part.

I also have a ton of Ryobi tools and batteries and only have had 1 go bad and that was my fault because I have them in my kids outdoor power wheels and they got wet in the rain

Never had a problem with the batteries. Solid deal. The brushless is better but so new it's hard to get on a deal.

FTR, their experience is not universal… I would say it's not even common. I have never once heard of Ryobi having a reputation of bad batteries.

I really wish they would put the brushless on sale.
