This Ryobi USB screwdriver kit stands out mainly for the batteries, with the two 3Ah packs carrying most of the value and the tool itself adding a compact, rotating body, onboard bit storage, and about 50 in-lb of torque. The square shape is easy to hold and turn, and the driver has held up well over years of use for some. The main knocks are that it is chunky for tight access, has only on and off control with no variable speed, and the USB batteries are pricey and may not be needed if you already have another system. Battery life and long term durability can also be a concern.

  • The kit can be a strong value if you already use the Ryobi USB battery ecosystem.

  • The included 2x 3Ah batteries can drive most of the deal's value for battery-focused buyers.

  • The rotating or pivoting body can make the screwdriver easier to hold and turn during use.

  • An earlier version of this USB screwdriver line can stay reliable for years with the original battery still in good condition.

  • The tool body can be bulky, which can make access harder for awkward fastener positions.

  • The USB screwdriver can be limited to on/off operation without a variable speed trigger.

  • Battery performance can degrade within 2-3 years, which can make the kit unusable.

  • The torque capability can be overstated, with estimates closer to about 50 in-lb rather than 50 ft-lb.

Comes up as $50 for me
The one in the listing has 3 batteries.....(quoted the wrong comment but the 50 dollar one only has one or two batteries depending on which option you choose)

Has this thing really ever been $105? That seems like a really high original price.
That takes into account the cost of the tool, the cost of one 2.0 battery and the cost of two 3.0 batteries.

I scored an open-box one from ebay for $36, so I think this is an even better deal. Got it and I like it a lot. I used to have a moderately high-rated 4V Skil screwdriver with a pivoting head, per a recommendation from Project Farm, so this will have more power given it's 9V. The rotating body is nice. And the on-board storage of the 2nd bit is a nice perk lost with other powered screwdrivers. Now, I suppose it would be nice to have torque adjustment, but I usually run it at MAX anyhow.

Comments are right, this is worth it for the 2x3ah and 2ah batteries alone. I didn't need the tool have a worx but got it anyway.
I don't see the 2ah battery included with this, just the two 3ah batteries.

The Hyper Tough has a built in battery. When the battery dies, the tool is dead.
I have the craftsman 4v version of this, also has a built in battery, think I paid $17 (special circumstances). I have never once had a time that the battery died on me before I finished whatever I was using the tool for. The ryobi is a good deal, but the swappable battery is a feature that's not really needed. It wouldn't be so bad but they hardly offer any "tool only" options for the usb lithium line, so you're getting way more batteries than you'll ever need, and paying for them every time.

Also, some one needs to edit the "Common Questions" in the "Community Reviews" because there is NO FN WAY this thing does 50 ft-lb of torque. People would be breaking wrists and arms. It's 50-ish in-lbs.

The problem with almost all these is they don't have a variable speed trigger like a drill has. With these, it's on/off. With only 200 rpm, it's manageable, but would like to have some variability.

I was talking about battery failure in a tool with a built in battery as in losing it's ability to charge, not running out of power during use.

Can your return the tool and keep the two 3 amp batteries?
