Not a sliding miter saw, so cuts are very limited.

Limited, but still big enough to cut most things that need to be mitered in a typical American home like window and door casings, standard height baseboard, quarter-round, shoe moulding, brickmould, etc., and it'll even cross cut 2x4s if you're building a wall. But if your baseboards are extra tall or you're doing large crown, you'll need something bigger.

You're not wrong. However, getting the next size up - which yes, is plus $100 - is probably not something you're going to regret.

Note: Neither, best I can tell, have an LED cut guide.I was recently gifted a miter saw and I'm determined to upgrade to something with an LED guide.
