Not a great combo.
I just bought that blower and it needs a 12Ah battery to run properly!!!
I wonder why home depot would make this combo when they know the recommended battery for the blower.

Can you elaborate why it needs 12Ah to run properly? purely for extended runtime, or something else?

Think of amps like bandwidth. Smaller batteries may have the voltage, but they don't have the throughout to power a high draw appliance without overheating the battery.

However, I'm not convinced Milwaukee is shipping it with the wrong batteries. I'm sure the bundled ones are fine. But don't think you can put a 2 Ah battery on it and get 2 amps more run time. I also wouldn't spend $200 on a 500 CFM blower.

Used mine for years with the 5amp battery and zero problems, lol. It does get a little stronger with the 12amp but those are very expensive

It works on smaller batteries, but quickly drains them or overheats them. Milwaukee advertises that it will run 12 minutes on full throttle for an XC6.0 battery. I get about 5 minutes from my 5AH battery before they overheat or shutoff.

A legitimate reason to return the mismatch batteries and get the blower for $99.

I have this blower it's one of my best tool purchases of my life. The 5AH batteries work, but yeah, it stresses them pretty hard and you can drain a battery in 5 minutes on high. I also have the 12AH batteries and yes, they are longer lasting, but 90% of the time I'm using whatever batteries are charged, the 12AH mostly lives in my chainsaw. I use mine everyday it seems for 8 years or so.

I've had one of these for a long time for leaves and blowing off sidewalks after I mow, the 5ah batteries work fine for me. It might be an issue if you are doing a huge area and locking it on at full throttle until the battery gives out but I never do that, I'm at low throttle most of the time since it's pretty powerful.
