This is listed as new condition, but "CR division" in the seller name suggests this must be some sort of open box or return. Ordered a couple anyway before more companies try to make every single stupid device wifi instead of z-wave or zigbee. I love the local control and the fact that every device on my network isn't being used to serve me ads in some way or sniff out other devices.

If these indeed aren't new, then I assume I can return them based on misrepresentation. YMMV.

The problem with "used" Yale locks is that Yale locks them to the email address they were registered with. If the person returning them doesn't delete them from their account, then they can not be registered to your account. You can still Zwave connect them, but you can not use the Yale app for firmware updates, etc.

Is the yale app even a possibility for z-wave locks? I have never used it, heard of it or been suggested it so sounds like maybe it is strictly for newer wifi locks?
