Yet another reason to avoid buying a house that is held hostage by HOA membership
I'm seeing that the student deals require you to be a new user. I'd love to save $10/month on my gig plan but I'm not a new user and I don't see a price guarantee on the student offers. I managed to get a 5 year price guarantee on my current plan and Xfinity really likes to play games about increasing price without a guarantee.

I think I used this deal:

While it said it was for new users only, I was able to apply it to my existing account and address. I was on a slower speed (paying more) before which may have been why it worked for me.
This usually only comes into play if your apartment or condo HOA has a deal with the cable or fiber company, and you pay for it as part of your rent or HOA dues.
I don't want anyone to be misled into thinking that you can't take advantage of this deal if you're someone who buys your own internet and pays for it separately (and happens to live in an apartment or has an HOA).
Usually taxes and fees are much higher. Last December's plan didn't charge extra for modem rental fees and other normal junk fees. Not sure about the plans discussed in this post.
