Best Buy has the Acer Swift Go 16 AI (model SFG16-A71T-R5UY, Best Buy SKU 6671810) on sale for $649.99. It is brand new and sold by Best Buy. Shipping is free, and Best Buy shows delivery as soon as tomorrow. Free store pickup is also available.

Price check for this same model, brand new: Walmart lists it at $839.99 and Newegg lists it at $849.99. Acer's own online store lists it at $1,199.99. So the Best Buy price is $190 lower than the lowest street price I found, which was Walmart at $839.99. Costco and BJ's do not list this exact model, and I could not find this exact model at Micro Center. On eBay, even Acer's refurbished units of this model cost more than this new one. The cheapest refurbished unit is $675.47 with a coupon, and that is a used unit.

Specs: 16 inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200) IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB color, AMD Ryzen AI 7 445 processor, 16GB LPDDR5X memory, 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, Windows 11 Home, Wi-Fi 7, backlit keyboard, and a weight of about 3.53 pounds. Neither the Best Buy page nor Acer's spec page lists a screen brightness rating in nits, so I cannot confirm that number.

How it compares to other laptops: The closest match is the HP OmniBook 5 16 inch, which uses the same Ryzen AI 7 445 chip. Walmart lists the HP with 16GB of memory and a 1TB SSD for $842.90, and Micro Center lists an HP OmniBook 5 16 inch with the same chip for $799.99. That is about $150 to $193 more than this Acer, for the same chip and the same memory and storage. If you want a clearly better laptop in this same Acer line, the Swift Go 16 with a Ryzen AI 9 chip and 32GB of memory costs $1,289 at Best Buy. So it takes about $639 more, not $300 more, to get a clearly better laptop in this class.

One thing to know: the graphics are the integrated AMD Radeon 840M. This is not a gaming laptop. It is a good fit for work, school, web browsing, video, and light photo editing. It is not built for heavy gaming.

Whoops. My mistake. It's a less capable model.
EBay is an Ultra 5 322 but with an OLED screen. Not sure of the NITS but how does the Ultra 5 322 compare to the Ryzen 7 445?

Is this better than the $599 Acer Aspire at Costco?

Just reading some pc reviews, it looks like the IPS screen gets slightly brighter than the oled, but not a lot. It's definitely an improvement though. Like 300 nits vs 260.

290 nits according to CNET review. I bought a similar one for my father a couple months ago, the 16: oled but with the 225H processor. So far it's worked great for his uses (web, email, word processor, light business, and streaming videos).

Even though the screen isn't the brightest, the oled is very sharp and easy on the eyes, and even with his poor vision he hasn't had a problem using the screen (though hasn't tried it in strong sunlight).

I'm in the same boat. Not sure if the glossy oled is worth it for a senior or a regular antiglare ips would be better for readability (with higher nits). This model l also has better performance compared tothis one. [ebay.com]
