They used to be good. Then, as part of enshixxification, they changed the ingredients. The first two ingredients are sugar, and palm kernel oil and coconut oil. Those oils completely changed the texture and mouthfeel and made a good chocolate candy into a waxy mess. Corporate greed knows no end.

Good to be aware. Where were you in the last 100+ FP deal thread? At least with Costco, if you are not happy with the taste, return the remainder for your money back.

You should have warned the Amazon thread since they don't take food back.

Hershey did this with Reese's, but I still love them.

I probably will still love these truffles! Regardless, I am looking forward to them reverting as planned, back to the original recipe, since the founder's son pitched a fit.

* Slight phrasing update for clarification. See attachment.

I recently bought some Ferrero Rocher at Costco and feel the same way about it.It just didn't taste as good as I remember it.

Do you know when they changed?

BTW - what I have been doing is directly ordering a 300-mix from the Lindt site - e.g. they have a 25% off now + there is generally some cashback/credit card deal. This way, I get the flavors that I want. Last year, I ordered a few flavors from their website - they still tasted great - I love the hazelnut. Looks like they removed the Almond butter flavor - Grrr... [I don't eat them all by myself - a bunch of it gets used in small presents together with Ghiradelli chocolates].

Oh that's what happened.
I recently received a gift basket and there was a 5.1 ounce package of the dark chocolate and a 5.1 ounce of the white chocolate and the texture was very strange and the flavor was quite different from how I remember it being a few years ago. Definitely waxy feeling. I didn't check the ingredients. Thank you for your post. It was very informative.
